St Mirren's history includes winning the Scottish Cup three times (1926, 1959, 1987) and the Scottish League Cup twice (2013, 2025). They remain the only Scottish team to win the Anglo-Scottish Cup, defeating Bristol City 5–1 over two legs in 1979–80. The club has played European competition five times, most recently returning to the UEFA Conference League in 2024–25 after a 37-year absence.

In Their Own Story

On 6 October 1877, St Mirren played their first match at Shortroods, defeating Johnstone Britannia 1–0. The club moved through several grounds including Thistle Park and West March before settling on Love Street in 1894, where they stayed until 2009. A record attendance of 47,438 was set there against Celtic in 1949. In 2010, despite losing the League Cup final to Rangers, St Mirren famously defeated Celtic 4–0 three days later. The club moved to their current home, St Mirren Park (capacity 8,000), on 15 January 2009.

The club's first match was a 1–0 win over Johnstone Britannia in 1877. They reached their first Scottish Cup final in the 1907–08 season, losing to Celtic, before lifting the trophy in 1926, 1959, and 1987. In March 2013, they beat Heart of Midlothian 3–2 at Hampden to win their first cup since 1987. On 14 December 2025, they secured their second League Cup by beating Celtic 3–1.
